I came from a country where even butchers recited poetry. It has a national poem. In 1848, Sandor Petöfi stood on a table top in a tavern and recited his poem that became the trumpet for freedom. Then he and others rode off and were killed. And I remember having to learn it by heart. Imagine! Poetry that matters!

Este discurso estético, poco cultivado en nuestra América castellana, permiten establecer las diferencias psicoestructurales dentro del orden social de esta otra organización cultural, donde el medio y el lenguaje generado conjugan una disciplina literaria muy particular a la región del que escribe. Pero, más allá de las diferencias formales, existe y prevalece el discurso social, esquivo, sutil; la denuncia práctica donde se mantiene la voz lírica y conserva la lejanía de la prosopopeya o el canto heroico.
